Chuzzle Slot Machine
This slot features a host of colourful characters which look like hair with big bug eyes. The ‘cute factor’ is further enhanced by the ‘yeah’ sounds that certain symbols make on the reels, and the blinking eyes… There are 3 different bonus games on this 5 reel slot, which is colourful, bold and entertaining. While it is not the type of game I would be drawn to, it has a lot of charm – and things like the multiplier after your free spins round gives the game the possibility of a big win too. I have a feeling that once you play it, you’ll find this slot enjoyable - it is just a matter of getting over the overly cute creatures on the reels.
Design-wise this is bright and blocky, with primary colours and a multicolour frame. Reels are set against a black background. The animations are limited in the main game, with the blinks of the fur-ball creatures being the main thing. Most of the symbols are either the creatures (maybe these are the ‘Chuzzles’?) or playing card symbols. In addition to these there are 3 different bonus symbols. These are a crowd of creatures, some under disco-spotlights and blue potion bottles. Sounds-wise, the most distinctive noise is the popping as new symbols fall into place on a spin. There are also electronic noises for wins and a full-on disco sound track in the free spins feature.
You’ll get the opportunity to enjoy the Chuzzle Disco free spins game, the Chuzzle reaction break out game and a pick-a-win bonus while playing this slot.
Setup and Play for Chuzzle
20 win lines for this game are not configurable, and the game has 5 reels and the standard 3 rows of symbols. The version I played was default priced in Euros, with the option of playing from 20c and up. I was not able to find an auto-spin, which is unusual for Blueprint slots. One nice touch is that when you hit the spin button, the previous symbols all explode (like a mini firework) and the new ones fall into place.
There is one winning combination which is bigger than all of the others by a long way. This is triggered by the wild symbol, and is worth 10,000 coins for 5 on a win-line. This multi-coloured wild is also worth 2000 for 4, 200 for 3 and 10 for just 2 on the reels. The red and blue Chuzzles are worth 750 for 5, with the yellow one 400. The playing cards make up the supporting symbols as usual, with smaller wins for 3+ on the reels.
Each of the special symbols is a scatter. This means that they trigger the bonus wherever they appear on the reels. There are 3 different types (the disco, crowd of Chuzzles and potion) each triggers its own bonus game.
Chuzzle Slot Bonus Games
I liked the free spins round – largely due to the special twist at the end. This game takes you to a new screen where the 1970’s disco music plays. You get between 15 and 25 spins (for 3, 4 or 5 of the disco scatters on the reels). These simply auto-play through, with your win amount total displayed on the bottom right. Once you have finished, the game takes a very welcome twist. You go to a new screen and see 4 full sized Chuzzles. Your task is to pick one of them, which will award you a multiplier on your win. The ones you did not pick are revealed (think 2x to 6x range) and your free spins wins are multiplied by the amount you picked.
Chuzzle Reaction is the second bonus game. This is triggered by 3+ of the crowded scatter symbols. First the screen fills up with the creatures, before you are taken to the bonus game proper. This is like one of the cascading gems bonus games. You have a grid of creatures to the right, and any combination of 3+ gives you a win and explodes. More creatures come in to fill the gaps, and hopefully generate more wins. There is a special pay table for wins triggered by different coloured creatures.
The last bonus game is very simple by comparison. If you get 3 of the potion icons, you get to choose one to reveal a bonus win.
Chuzzle Slot – Conclusion
This is an enjoyable slot. It is fun, bright and the creatures are somehow endearing too. On first view the primary colours and simple graphics made me a little sceptical of how good this game would be. After a couple of sessions, I’m happy to recommend it – even to those players who do not normally go for the ‘cute’ type of games. The bonus rounds are the main draw, with the free spins multiplier particularly welcome. There is also the outsized 10,000 coin top prize to keep your interest high.
