The first thing you’re going to notice about this particular game, is the amount of time it takes to load up. Obviously, this is going to be either improved or worsened, depending on your internet connection, but nevertheless, it’s something to make a note of.
Thankfully, Green Jungle is worth it once the thing actually declares itself ready to play. The appearance of the game screen is smooth enough itself, then the gentle piano score begins over the top and you realise just how polished this offering is going to be.
Visually, the theme here is (obviously) the jungle, but it’s not really like any jungle we have explored. For one thing, there’s a cartoonish male character with a bow and arrow who looks like something from Robin Hood, but then we have penguins and zebras living here too. Perhaps more fantastical rainforest than real life woodland, then, the graphics throughout are incredibly clean and well drawn – akin to something from a Disney or Dreamworks animation – and this standard sets the bar pretty high for the actual playing. So then, how does that match up?
Into the Trees
Green Jungle is a standard 25-payline, 5-reel game. If you’ve never played on one of these then the rules are pretty simple (or at least they usually are). Match up like-pictures in threes, fours, or fives, and you can win money. The pictures range from tortoises to snails, to numbers, each corresponding to a different value.
The penguin, snail and ox are, respectively, Mega Jackpot, Mini Jackpot and Minor Jackpot. These can only count as a win if you land five of the same on the reels, which is clearly not the easiest challenge to be set. Nevertheless, it is more than possible.
All Kinds of Species
As with many online casino games of this kind, there are several ways you can adjust the amount you stand to win, and individual chances of winning. The first of which is by changing the Bet Per Line rate. The lowest you can bet is 0.01, the highest is 2. The more you are willing to put down on the table the more you are likely to pick up at the end if you land a winning combination.
Don’t think that merely landing three of a kind is enough to make one of those, though. You need to land the like-pictures on active paylines. Like we said, there are 25 of these that can be brought into play at any one time. You can adjust this by clicking on the Bet Lines sign in the bottom of the screen. Unlike some games, you can only increase or decrease in fives- so five, 10, 15, 20, and 25. The first is a tree trunk, and this is your Scatter. Put simply, land three or more of these and you will multiply your winnings. There’s also a little rodent with huge eyes- this guy is the Free, and will award you free spins for landing three or more (up to 15 free spins for five of a kind). When free spins mean potentially free money, this can only be a good thing.
Finally we have what looks like a chipmunk in a woolly hat (of course). This character triggers a bonus game that offers yet more winnings and lots of nicely drawn fun.

After the painful process of actually getting at the game, there’s a lot to like a lot about Green Jungle. It plays really well, has loads of extras to keep you interested, and just in case you didn’t want to kill the volume, the music is, for a change, actually pretty soothing (albeit still on a repetitive loop which will, after time, grate).
Overall then, perhaps a bit showy for some, and not direct enough, but for us this one is just about right, scoring pretty high on the Play Again-o-meter.
