Beginning the Classic Board Game
This slot game has simple graphics with the reels set out as though rooms inside the ‘paradise mansion’ of the game title. Behind the reels is a purple and pink screen featuring shadows of grand buildings and palm trees to increase the feeling of luxury and wealth. The shaking of maracas accompanies the spins and each win is greeted with a fun jingle.
The symbols here are made up of Monopoly icons and other images associated with the game, including a gold capital M with a top hat perched on the top, a diamond, a red hotel and green house form the game, piles of Monopoly money, a tap from the water board, a light bulb from the electricity company, a dog, Mr Monopoly wearing his top hat, and a chest filled with diamonds - the ‘community chest’.
To get started, select your stake by choosing your bet per line from €0.01 to €2.00. There are 20 paylines and you can play as many or as few as you like. This means your minimum stake is €0.01 per spin and your maximum stake is €40 per spin. This betting range is decent and should satisfy all players except the highest rollers.
Payouts From Mr Monopoly and His Dog
The regular symbols award some pretty good payouts with the gold letter M the highest-paying symbol awarding up to 10,000x your bet for 5 symbols on the reels together. The large diamond awards up to 1000x your bet for 5 symbols and the hotel and house symbol awards up to 500x your bet for 5 symbols, as does the pile of cash symbol.
The lower paying symbols are tap and light bulb which both pay up to 300x your bet for 5 symbols, while the Ace high card pays 150x your bet and the King, Queen and Jack all pay up to 100x your bet for 5 symbols together on an active payline.
The gold capital letter M is the wild symbol in this game, standing in for all the other symbols except the scatter to create more potential wins.
The white dog symbol is the scatter. If you spin 5 of these cute canines you win 100x your total bet, while 4 awards 25x your total bet and 3 awards 5x your total bet.
Property Card Bonus Game
If you land 3 of the Mr Monopoly wearing his top hat symbols anywhere on the reels, you trigger the Property Card bonus game. During this round you are presented with 3 property cards and you need to choose one to win a bonus prize. Take care though, because if you choose a card without a prize, the round ends. Choose wisely to boost your bankroll to potentially dizzying heights.
Community Chest Prizes
If you spin 3 community chest symbols on the screen you will trigger the Community Chest bonus game. During this round you have to pick community chest cards to receive bonus prizes. Keep picking for prizes until you select the ‘Advance to Go’ card, which awards 2 credits for every remaining card.
You get a multiplier on all prizes equal to the number of paylines that started the bonus game. This must be the only Community Chest round in Monopoly that always rewards players with positive prizes!
Monopoly Comes to Life in a Simple Game
Overall, Monopoly Paradise Mansion is a fun game with a great theme. Fans of the classic board game will enjoy spinning reels that contain images from the game, however the simplicity of this slot makes it feel less exciting than it should be.
It would have been nice to see more of the symbols, such as the iron and the boat, along with more of the most famous properties such as Mayfair and Old Kent Road referencing during the game.
We weren’t sure why diamonds were chosen as such as main symbol in this game as these gems were not a classic feature of the Monopoly board game. In any case, the wild symbols appear regularly, the bonus games are fun and the 10,000x top payout is a strong feature.
Board game fans will enjoy the theme, but they might be disappointed by the lack of complexity.
