Little Big Bingo Review

Some bingo websites state their intentions pretty clearly from the outset. And by that we don’t just mean they tell you that they are all about playing bingo. In contrast, this particular offering seems a little more, err, confused, about what its theme actually is.

Little Big Bingo is a catchy old name, but for anyone who has a memory of 1970s cinema, it may invoke a couple of things that are not really related. Little Big Man, for example, or The Battle for Little Big Horn. In comparison, there’s nothing here remotely relating to braves or Native American tribes, although the font the developers have opted for is plucked straight from old Wild West, which perhaps explains the decision.

Then again, the majority of the homepage is taken up by a background image that seems to be depicting some kind of stage show – curtains pulled to either side. They certainly had this sort of facility in the Old West of days gone by, although it’s not necessarily the first thing we’d think of when it comes to this period in history. Still, at least it’s not another website that has loads of stereotypical imagery of cowboys and the like, which we’ve seen before copious times.

Clean and Crisp

OK, enough with the very brief first impression analysis, and onto the nitty gritty. Of sorts. The homepage itself is relatively clean in its design, as in the information you want to be able to find is all there for you to see. The top of the screen is all about the brand name, along with sign in form, and to the left two links – one for Play Now, the other for the registration of a new membership. In the middle of the stage, which could well be a cinema rather than theatre (don’t ask about authenticity or accuracy), there’s a white panel on which the words Spend A Little, Win Big, Play Now are displayed proudly. Clearly this is something everyone wants to do, so full marks there.

Below both of these there are three more small box outs. On shows you the Sign Up bonus – which is set at 200%, although we can come to that later. The other is a Guaranteed Daily Jackpots box, telling you that these occur every night at 9pm. Next up, Play Bingo from as little as 1p, which is always pretty tempting. And, finally, a prompt for you to become a fan of Little Big Bingo on Facebook, by way of keeping abreast with ongoing special offers. Again, not a bad idea really.

Tabs Aplenty

The menu row of click through tabs sits just beneath the brand name at the top of the screen, which is standard placement and as such makes these really easy to locate and click on. All in all, then, we have seen far worse designs, and far less effort made to show you what a website is really all about. One thing we would say is that there could be some clues as to the type of games on offer – and this is a bit of a stickler for us. People don’t want to keep clicking in order to see if they are interested in actually becoming a member- there should be clear details as to what kind of games are on offer to members from the moment you sign in. Or maybe we’re just asking too much?

Or Maybe Not…

Once you start scratching the surface of Little Big Bingo, set up in 2011, you realise just how deep that rabbit hole actually goes. If you click on ‘Games’ at the top of the screen (in the aforementioned row of menu tabs) you’re only taken through to a page that allows you to sign up or sign in. ‘So what?’ Well, how long have you got for us to explain the problem with this?

So let’s position ourselves as new users arriving at Little Big Bingo for the first time. Perhaps we got here through Google, perhaps we got here through a different method of finding websites. Either way it doesn’t matter. The point is that there’s no guarantee we were ever going to come to this particular bingo website, rather than one of the countless others on the market. What this means is that the developers should be grateful we landed here, as oppose to elsewhere. As such, the last thing they should be doing is making us click for nothing, in the hope of finding out anything. Put simply, when you do click on ‘Games’, you should see examples of what games are on offer. You don’t, and as such this is one of those websites that has failed before we even get going properly.

Who’s the Big Shot?

Well, plenty of people. If you click on the ‘Big Winners’ tab at the top of the screen it becomes clear just how much is being paid out each day. Literally. This option opens up a page dedicated to revealing total winnings, and when we tested the site Yesterday’s Total Winnings were in at a whopping £80,644.60. That’s not a bad payout, with the average user coming away with between £1500 and £2000. Someone even managed to bag £23,994.19 – that’s a pretty life-changing figure for most people.

Wo Ist Der Promo?

Good question, our German-literate reader. Indeed, where are the promotions? Logic would imply they are on the end of the Promotions menu tab on the home page. Sadly, though, whoever has built and organised this site as a business needs to have a word with themselves. The sign up bonus is pretty generous, but only in the way the majority of sign up bonuses on bingo websites are pretty generous. 200% of you opening deposit gets added to your account, up to a maximum of £150 in bonus cash.

But this is where the promotions stop. That’s right – just one single, solitary, hermit-like promotion. A kind of Billy No Mates of promos. The page also boasts about Pre-Buy Guaranteed Jackpots, but this isn’t really a promotion at all, if you ask us – instead, it’s just a different type of standard game.

Penny for Your Thoughts

One unique area of this website is found on the end of the Penny Points menu tab, which is on the homescreen. Click on this and you’ll be taken through to a section dedicated to Penny Points, which is basically a loyalty system. Each time you play, you’ll be awarded Penny Points, and for every 1,000 Penny Points, £1 will be added to your game account. Hardly the most unbelievable way of keeping you interested, as with promotions this shows a huge oversight on the part of the Little Big Bingo site developers. After all, in the UK you can barely buy a bar of chocolate for £1.

Going Downhill Fast

Argh!!! It all started of so (relatively) well – pretty weird idea for a website but designed neatly with everything in its rightful place. Unfortunately, though, the deeper you dig the more you realise that you’re not going to get what you want, or deserve. Being forced to sign up for anything before you really know what it is offering is a ludicrous business mode. Those who have ever been rejected for a job interview based on their lack of experience will know only too well the cruel way of the world.

Little Big Bingo, it seems, thinks it doesn’t need to adhere to the standard practice of showing what you can do and then securing the deal, and for that reason we’re rather irritated by the experience of trying to review something without being given full access to what we need to write the review, and as such would do anything but recommend this one.
