Scientific Games will power the Wynn Sports app in the two states, utilizing the OpenSports solution. The OpenSports product is modular and flexible, providing operators with customization solutions. Wynn Sports will also use the OpenPlatform product, a player account management system.

delivering unmissable sports betting and iGaming experiences

Group CEO, Digital for Scientific Games Jordan Levin commented that the company is thrilled to be working with Wynn Resorts as the partnership expands. “We look forward to developing entertainment opportunities and delivering unmissable sports betting and iGaming experiences for players in these states,” he said.

Moving into new markets

As Wynn Sports moves into Colorado and Indiana, it is entering relatively new betting markets. Colorado launched sports betting in May, even as most sports were cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the lack of sports, the state has enjoyed a fairly successful start to its sports betting industry.

The first month of legalized sports betting saw players wager over $25.6m. Table tennis received the most bets at $6.6m. MMA fights, baseball, soccer, and golf were also popular sports among players.

The sports betting industry in Indiana is a little more established. Sportsbooks started offering betting in September 2019. Online sports betting has gained steam over the past few months, with Unibet joining the fray after earning approval in late July 2020.
