Latest market launch

NetEnt has launched its library of casino games on Wind Creek’s online casino in Pennsylvania in its latest move to expand in the US market.

The company is supplying many of its video slots and table game options to the Wind Creek online platform. NetEnt has been expanding in Pennsylvania since July 2019; it has seen consistent growth in the state each quarter.

underlines our status as a go-to supplier in Pennsylvania”

NetEnt Americas’ vice president of commercial Brian Kraft commented on this latest launch, saying: “The deal underlines our status as a go-to supplier in Pennsylvania both with established operators and emerging brands. Given the strong performance of our content with local players, this partnership will no doubt see Wind Creek make a big impact in the online landscape.”

A positive move for Wind Creek

Wind Creek Hospitality’s chief marketing officer Ken Rohman spoke about the excitement of entering the online arena in Pennsylvania, with the NetEnt partnership being an ideal way to quickly garner market share soon after launch.

The Wind Creek Casino is operated by the Poarch Band of Mission Indians. Its Wind Creek Hospitality subsidiary launched the online casino, powered by Pala Interactive, in August. Betfred is on board as the tribe’s sports betting partner; the British sports betting company is in charge of both online and retail betting for the property.

NetEnt availing of opportunities

NetEnt has been looking at all possible opportunities to expand in the US in recent months. Only a few days ago, NetEnt announced that it is teaming up with BetMGM in the West Virginia online casino sector

It has seen its greatest success in the US to date in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Second quarter financial figures show 148% year-on-year growth in New Jersey gross gaming revenue for the developer, with a 100% increase for the same period in Pennsylvania. The company has been benefiting from the increase in popularity of online casino games during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The game developer is in the process of being acquired by leading live casino game supplier Evolution Gaming. In June, Evolution Gaming made a bid of SEK19.6bn ($2.2bn) to acquire NetEnt.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority has launched an investigation into this planned merger due to concerns that it will undermine competition in the British online gambling sector. The two parties were originally planning to complete the deal in November.
