Aiming for increased fan interest
In a new multi-year partnership, the NHL’s Nashville Predators have named DraftKings the official sports betting and DFS provider of the team. Both organizations will work together to provide new ways for fans to engage with the sport.
The Predators posted about the new deal on Twitter:
The partnership comes just a short time after the sports betting operator launched its mobile app in Tennessee. Preds fans can access a special deposit bonus when signing up with DraftKings and using the new app.
Partnership comes with perks for DraftKings
As the official Daily Fantasy Sports Provider and Sports Betting Operator of the Predators, DraftKings can now add branding and content to the team’s home, Bridgestone Arena.
The operator will also add signage on the Lexus Lounge LED screen during home games. Predators radio broadcasts will feature DraftKings betting lines, both before and during the game.
The two will also partner to create digital and social media content. DraftKings will occasionally take over the Predators’ homepage and sponsor giveaways on social media. The hockey team has a newsletter titled “This Week in Smashville,” which will now include the DraftKings brand.
Searching for a partner
EVP and chief revenue officer of the Predators, Chris Junghans, commented on the new deal, stating that the team began its search for a sports betting partner as soon as the Tennessee Sports Gaming Act passed earlier this year. Junghans pointed out that now fans of the team will “have access to the GOLD STANDARD of sports betting information technology.”
DraftKings chief business officer Ezra Kucharz also commented on the new deal, stating the company is thrilled to be working with the Predators. Because of the collaboration, fans of the team will enjoy the full DraftKings experience both on and off the ice.
Teaming up with the Detroit Pistons
Along with signing a deal with the Predators, DraftKings has been busy adding even more partnerships to its portfolio. In early December, the brand announced a new contract with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons. The multi-year deal takes place as Michigan prepares to launch online sports betting.
The agreement with the Pistons is similar to the one signed with the Predators. DraftKings will serve as the team’s Official Daily Fantasy Sports, Sports Betting, and iGaming Partner.
