A new era of expansion
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) has launched its new iGaming division, operating under the name Mohegan Digital. An announcement made on Wednesday detailed the worldwide integrated resorts operator’s foray into the online gambling sector.
The iGaming arm will aim to provide “cutting-edge online gaming solutions” to the Mohegan fan base, as well as meeting the needs of new customers around the world.

One of Mohegan Digital’s initial priorities is the creation of an iGaming experience for its main property, the Mohegan Sun Connecticut. This comes after Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed legislation into law last month that legalizes both sports betting and online gaming. The bill still awaits the green light from the US Department of the Interior.
Mohegan Digital will see Rich Roberts in the role of president and Aviram Alroy as vice president of product. They will be leading the expansion efforts and overseeing all of the digital operations.
Eyeing the burgeoning iGaming space
Speaking about the reasoning behind the rollout of Mohegan Digital, MGE CEO and president Ray Pineault said: “We’ve consistently seen strong growth in digital gaming across our properties, especially in this past year, and as legal sports betting continues to expand in the U.S., the timing was right for us to launch Mohegan Digital.”
In addition to Connecticut, Mohegan Digital will also be looking to enter markets in other states such as Pennsylvania and Washington. It also plans to launch its brand in the Canadian province of Ontario.
A worldwide gaming resort operator
MGE operates integrated entertainment resorts all across the world, including the United States, South Korea, and Canada. It has jointly secured the contract to create the first integrated casino resort in Greece through a successful bid worth €150m ($177.65m). Mohegan is also seeking to get an integrated resort license in Nagasaki, Japan.
One of MGE’s more recent projects was getting on board as the casino operator of the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas resort. This new facility, which opened for business in March 2021, marked the first casino on the Las Vegas Strip corridor to be under the operation of a Native American tribe.
