The fortunes of superstar rapper Drake appear to have finally turned. He secured a payout of more than $2m after betting on the Kansas City Chiefs to overcome the Cincinnati Bengals in Sunday’s AFC Championship game.
It took a field goal in the final seconds
The rapper superstar placed just over $1.1m on the wager with Stake. Drake posted a screenshot of the betslip to his Instagram on Saturday. It took a field goal in the final seconds to seal the victory for the Chiefs. The br-betting Twitter account shared the wager once the win was confirmed:
It certainly wasn’t all rosy for Drake over the weekend as he lost an $850,000 wager on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. The Philadelphia Eagles came out on top in the fixture in a comprehensive 31-7 result. He would have secured winnings of $1.9m if the bet was successful.
For a long time, people joked that Drake was cursed due to a significant run of losing bets. These included big money bets on UFC fights and the FIFA World Cup final. It is unclear what team Drake will back in the Super Bowl game on February 12, but sportsbooks are predicting that it will prove a close-fought affair.
