Las Vegas police have arrested a man suspected of completing a spate of robberies and carjackings over several months. They booked Dshante Styles into the Clark County Detention Center on Thursday. The 33-year-old faces numerous charges, including robbery with a deadly weapon and grand larceny auto.
allegedly robbed six casinos and carjacked two vehicles
The robberies started on November 16 last year and continued for a number of months across Henderson and Las Vegas. Styles allegedly robbed six casinos and carjacked two vehicles during the period. Police did not name the casinos, but four properties are known to have suffered robberies during that time, including Gold Coast, Green Valley Ranch, Silverton, and Rampart facilities.
A police officer identified a stolen vehicle on April 18 which Styles allegedly used on the same day to carry out an armed robbery at a casino. He evaded the authorities on that occasion by running away, but police identified him not long after. Authorities apprehended the suspect and recovered a firearm in the process.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department Deputy Chief Nicholas Farese, the suspect has a lengthy criminal record and “previously served sentences in 2008 and 2009 for similar crimes.”
