The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) has issued a cease and desist order to an unlicensed online gambling operator. Malta-based GoldWin Ltd is the operator of the offending West Casino iGaming brand. According to the KSA, GoldWin has permitted Netherlands residents to access its offering despite lacking a license.
the KSA has given GoldWin two weeks from April 20 to comply with the order
GoldWin failed to respond to a warning served by the KSA in January about its intention to impose an order and fines. As a result, the KSA has given GoldWin two weeks from April 20 to comply with the order before it hits it with a €239,000 ($255,913) weekly penalty, up to a maximum fine of €717,000 ($767,739). The company has the ability to appeal the decision.
The KSA’s investigation discovered that GoldWin received 907,246 visits from people in the Netherlands between March 2022 and the start of February 2023. This investigation began in December after a KSA member was able to create an account using a Dutch IP. They made a credit card payment to this account and played a slot game with the funds.
