Police are investigating the shooting death of a man at MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino over the weekend. Prince George’s County police responded to reports of a shooting from MGM Special Police and security officers at about 5am Saturday morning to find the victim with gunshot wounds in the parking garage. The unnamed man passed away at the scene.

All the initial investigation has come up with is that there was a dispute and one person ended up dead.

Not much is known about what led up to the shooting, at least publicly. All the initial investigation has come up with is that there was a dispute and one person ended up dead. So far, it does not sound like it was a robbery, the first conclusion most would jump to with a crime in a casino parking garage.

Police are still searching for a suspect.

According to 7News, local residents have been concerned about increased crime in the area. A bill introduced last week by Prince George’s County Council member Krystal Oriadha aims to help in that regard. Oriadha’s idea is to require businesses that are open between 10pm and 6am to have a “Late Night Safety Plan.”

Understanding that there is not a one size fits all approach, the bill would require businesses to work with local police to come up with the best plan for their specific location.
