Drake’s long jinx form on fighters, including Conor McGregor, Anthony Joshua, and Jorge Masvidal, has continued after the rapper lost big betting on Englishman Tyson Fury.

Online boxing Editor for talkSPORT Michael Benson took to X to share Drake’s $565,000 loss after Oleksandr Usyk beat Fury on Saturday at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

If Drake had won, the Canadian megastar would have pocketed just over $1m.

The titanic clash, however, saw Usyk take the win after a split decision. Two judges ruled in favor of the Ukrainian, with only one match official giving the fight to The King of the Gypsies.

first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion of the world

While the world watched as Usyk took Fury’s WBC belt to add to his WBA, WBO and IBF titles to be crowned boxing’s first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, fans on social media were quick to revive the Drake curse.

One person stated: “Drake just loves losing money, does he? It really is a f*cking curse.”

Last year, YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul jokingly blamed the rapper for his loss to Tyson’s brother Tommy Fury, stating: “F*ck this is Drake’s fault.” Drake lost $400,000 betting on Paul after a split decision marked the social media star’s first pro boxing defeat.

Drake seems to fare better on his NFL wagers. Earlier this year, he placed a total of $965,000 in bets on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, winning $1.4m and pocketing an overall profit of over a half-million dollars.
