The Danish Gaming Authority (DGA) has announced that any company supplying services to a gambling operator will need to obtain a license to do so starting next year. The regulator will begin taking applications in September in advance of introducing the new requirements in January. A transition period will be in place until July 2025, by which point all of these new rules become mandatory.

The DGA now has a section on its website outlining the details these companies need to know before submitting an application. One of the steps toward getting a license is undergoing independent testing of its business processes, gaming platforms, and games. No games can appear on Danish gambling sites until these checks are done.

upload any existing game certifications as these will remain valid under the new rules

Suppliers will be able to manage their licenses through a new portal named the “Games Register,” which should be up and running by October. The DGA will supply login information to suppliers so they can upload any existing game certifications as these will remain valid under the new rules. This will save the regulator from having to go over all of the previously certified titles.
