Details emerge

Gruesome details of sex worker Larissa Garcia’s murder at the Palms Casino Resort have emerged after the suspect turned himself in to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) and confessed.

8 News Now shared the fresh details, citing documents the LVMPD submitted on Monday.

confessed to the murder, sexual assault and battery of Garcia

On Friday, Jason Kendall, 35, walked in to LVMPD headquarters and confessed to the murder, sexual assault and battery of Garcia. Kendall admitted to paying Garcia $2,000 for sex before strangling and assaulting her on June 12 inside Palms Casino.

LVMPD documents cited Kendall as claming he “snapped” after the mother of his two kids asked for more money. “He hit her in the face and ‘choked’ her for 10 minutes’ and ‘then had sex with her,” the report states.

Brain damage

The whole horrific incident took place in less than an hour, with Palms Casino video footage showing the time of the suspect’s arrival at the casino’s lobby. An hour later, cameras showed Kendall leaving a room alone, the room in which Garcia was clinging to life.

Kendall called the police after the incident to report a woman overdosing at Palms.

According to 8 News Now, Palms security responded, finding Garcia prone on the floor with a facial wound. The Vegas news source added the LVMPD “did not initially respond as Kendall indicated Garcia had overdosed.”

Six days after the incident, a nurse examining Garcia while she was still alive said she’d been strangled and “possibly suffocated.” A doctor declared her brain dead on June 21. Doctors later confirmed no alcohol or drugs were in Garcia’s system

Palms Casino’s owners, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, are no strangers to murders at the resort, despite only taking over in May 2021. Just three months into its tenure, the tribe found itself with a possible double murder-suicide on its hands after two women died of gunshot wounds in their room.

Found online

According to the police report, records of Kendall’s digital search history reveal he sought out Garcia in advance and found her online, where she would advertise her escort services under the working names of “Andrea” or “Dallas.”

Vegas media reports Garcia’s two young children are attending school, while Kendal is an Army vet, his service history not yet been made public.

A judge on Saturday ordered Kendall to be held without bail until his next court appearance on Tuesday.
