UFC star Conor McGregor won €1m ($1.1m) after successfully predicting that Spain would win the European Football Championships (EUROs) 2024 before the start of the tournament. The Spanish team defeated England in the final on Sunday night by a 2-1 scoreline to lift the trophy.
McGregor posted a screenshot of the winning wager on X, saying that it was a nice victory on his birthday:
The 36-year-old signed a partnership with cryptocurrency gambling platform Duelbits in May. His EUROs wager was placed on this platform at boosted odds of +1100 from a €83,500 ($90,911) stake.

The Irishman also placed a €100,000 ($108,876) wager on Spain winning the final 3-1 at odds of +2500, which would have resulted in a €2.5m ($2.7m) profit if the victors scored one more goal.
It was a good day all round for the birthday boy after Argentina captured the Copa America title by beating Colombia 1-0 in extra time. McGregor had placed €365,000 ($397,397) on Lionel Messi’s side coming out on top in the tournament at odds of +175 on July 1, which means he profited by €638,750 ($695,446).
