Hull City has signed a deal with Sportsbet.io that will see the gambling operator become the team’s main sponsor and its official betting partner in Turkey, as well as the put the brand’s logo on players’ shorts.
The Championship soccer team’s Head of Commercial Brett Carroll welcomed the “significant partnership with a reputable brand” that will help increase the profile of the club.
Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı is from the country
Carroll noted that the growing number of Sportsbet.io users in Turkey makes it a good deal for the next two seasons. Current Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı is from the country and controls an extensive media company in the region.
This isn’t the first time that Sportsbet.io has signed a deal with an English soccer club. It entered an agreement in August 2023 with Premier League side Newcastle United, coming on board as a club partner.
These types of deals are still a hot topic in the UK. Just last week, the UK Gambling Commission warned Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace for entering agreements with gambling brands under the Kaiyun Sports umbrella that don’t have a UK license and said their white label agreements with TGP Europe appear to be out of date.
