Two Workers in Critical State After Stabbing, Shooting at Las Vegas Casino

Two casino workers were left in a critical state this weekend after a stabbing and shooting at their place of employment in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said the incident took place near “West Charleston and the 215,” which is the location of Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa.

An LVMPD spokesperson confirmed the suspect attacked the two Red Rock employees inside the resort just after 1am. X user Carlostech took to the platform with a video of the ambulances arriving on the scene:

According to media reports, medical personnel took three people to hospital. The two employees were in critical condition from stabbing injuries. The LVMPD identified the other person taken to hospital as suspect Shayne Sussman, 25, who Red Rock resorts security shot after his alleged stabbing attack.  

Sussman will now face attempted murder and battery charges for the incident that caused the owner of the resort, Red Rock Resorts, to issue a statement to staff.

Vice President and General Manager Scott Nelson stated staff were “all shaken up by this random act of violence” but grateful for the intervention by security that “prevented a terrible incident from being much worse.” He wished the two employees a fast and total recovery.

“We will offer counseling service to people who may be in need of assistance,” the Rock Resorts exec stated, adding: “With our strong family spirit, we will pull through this together.”
