Jury Finds Man Guilty of Robbing $55k From Mohegan Sun Patron at Knife Point

A jury has found a man guilty of robbing more than $55,000 in cash from someone who was returning home from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. The case in Superior Court concluded with Bridgeport resident Edward Taylor being convicted on charges of first and second-degree robbery, as well as first-degree larceny. Sentencing in the case will take place on October 22.

The 33-year-old followed someone to a nearby gas station from Mohegan Sun on June 7, 2022 after seeing them in possession of a significant sum of money. Taylor flashed a knife at the victim who was pumping gas into their vehicle at the time and proceeded to take the cash following a struggle. The victim tried to stop Taylor and an accomplice from escaping, holding onto their car as it sped away before falling off and suffering minor injuries.

Mohegan Sun Police used surveillance footage to identify the suspects and their vehicle and forensics found Taylor’s DNA on the victim.
