Police have arrested a woman in connection with an armed robbery at an illegal gambling den in Connecticut that led to two men losing their lives. Officers apprehended Shanica Merced following a vehicle stop in Bridgeport, and she is now in custody on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and illegal gambling.
The 35-year-old was allegedly helping run the illegal operation at the time of the robbery and was grazed by a bullet during the incident.
Richard Davis and Tayvon Geter were trying to rob one of the gamblers at the venue on March 30 when the person pulled out a gun and started firing at the pair. The duo ended up dying from their gunshot wounds.
surveillance footage showed her let the two masked men into the premises
Merced was allegedly in cahoots with the suspects; surveillance footage showed her let the two masked men into the premises and sit with them for a long period of time before the chaos erupted.
Police already arrested two other people in relation to the incident. They apprehended Marcus Farmer in June for running the gambling den and stealing a firearm from one of the deceased attackers, while Sean Ellam allegedly took a firearm from the other robber.
