The authorities in Miami have arrested four men who allegedly tried to use fraudulent credit cards at a cruise ship casino. They were on board the MSC Magnifica, which left Miami and stopped in the Bahamas as part of a four-day trip.

The men attempted to use four credit cards to get cash advances to play casino games and slot machines, with staff rejecting the cards each time. Security grew suspicious of their behavior and alerted US Customs and Border Protection, who looked into the suspects’ bookings and financial activity while on the cruise. They found that the four men used fake credit cards to make their reservations.
The authorities in the Bahamas wouldn’t allow the individuals to disembark and they were taken into custody upon their return to Miami. Law enforcement discovered “numerous amounts of personal identifiable information” after searching their mobile devices.
They now face charges relating to grand theft, engaging in an organized scheme to defraud, and fraudulently using a credit card. Three of them are also facing an additional charge for fraudulently using identification.
