Someone paid $300 for a single pizza in the VIP box of a UNLV game over the weekend.

The price of a pepperoni pizza at a University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) football game has sent X into meltdown.

Renowned sports bettor Bill Krackomberger shared images of the food and its accompanying receipt. He claimed that his friend spent upwards of $653 on the meal in a VIP box at the UNLV Rebels game on Sunday, and all he got was a pizza and some chicken tenders:

As can be seen from the receipt, the pizza cost $300, while the chicken tenders cost $190. An additional administrative charge ($112.70) and sales tax ($50.48) brought the total purchase to $653.18.

The post now has more than 11 million views, with 4,000 comments and 6,000 shares. X users in the comments rightly pointed out that the six-slice pizza cost a staggering $50 per slice. “Wow, that’s egregiously bad,” stated Rex Beyers. Another X user, named Eldris, said: “Yup telling credit card company my sh*t was stolen.”

In a comment to Las Vegas Locally, the supposed owner of the receipt clarified his thoughts on the matter. He said: “Long story short it all turned out just fine and the manager took care of us. The suite attendant Krystal and the manager, Terry, they were absolutely amazing!  I just want to make sure people know they were great.”

At least Karackomberger’s friend got to see a UNLV win too. The college team played San Diego State Aztecs on Sunday, defeating them 41 – 20.
