A man is facing criminal charges after driving his car off the seventh floor of the Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel parking garage, crashing through a roof of the adjoining building. The property is located in Indiana.
Jeremiah Oldham drove through a wall in a restricted area of the garage before the vehicle shot off the side of the building and crashed through the roof of the Executive Conference Center. First responders took him to hospital for treatment after pulling him from the upside-down vehicle. No one else was harmed in the incident.
Oldham is now facing counts of criminal recklessness and criminal mischief
The damage to the building will supposedly cost more than $50,000 to repair. The casino and garage have since reopened. Oldham is now facing counts of criminal recklessness and criminal mischief.
Oldham has a history of crime and mental illness. In 2011 in Kentucky, officials convicted him for possession of child pornography, dishing out a 78-month prison sentence for the crime.
In regard to his mental health issues, Indiana TV Station WEHT reported that Oldham had previously received a psychosis diagnosis. He skipped doses of his medication the month before the incident and had complained of people trying to kill him. He expressed a desire to protect himself with weapons, but his probation conditions would not allow it.
