Authorities in Washington identified the remains of a man found in an underwater truck as someone who disappeared from a local casino three years ago.
Terry “TJ” Shinaver vanished after visiting the ilani Casino Resort on April 30, 2021. The Cowlitz County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death to be accidental drowning.

A tow truck driver discovered the underwater vehicle about six miles from the casino after they were trying to find a different vehicle. The authorities used the man’s dental records to get a positive identification.
The circumstances of how Shinaver ended up in the water are still unclear, although it appears that nobody else was involved. The St. Helens Police Department was running a missing person investigation to uncover what happened to the Oregon resident.
