The World Darts Championship garners massive attention every year and Paddy Power decided to add some extra intrigue for those in attendance, promising a £60,000 ($75,599) cash payment to a fan when someone threw the tournament’s first nine-darter.

Christian Kist duly delivered on Wednesday during his match against Madars Razma. The Dutchman also received £60,000 for his feat, which is a bigger sum than the prize for getting to the quarterfinals. Kist didn’t go on to win the first-round match, falling to Razma 3-1.

I am shaking still, I can’t believe it.”

The lucky fan chosen at random was someone named Chris, who revealed that his grandad gave him a ticket to attend for his birthday. Talking about the cash prize, he said: “I am shaking still, I can’t believe it. I am a massive darts fan. I came to a final ten years ago with my brother and grandad, who I am here with tonight.”

Chris doesn’t know what he will do with the money, suggesting he might go on vacation or pay off some of his mortgage. Prostate Cancer UK also received £60,000 ($75,599) through the BIGGER 180 promotion.
