A blackjack card counter claims that the security staff at a Baltimore casino detained him illegally, as he had not committed a crime. Jordan Kerr filed a lawsuit against the Horseshoe Casino regarding the incident in October.
The complaint explains that Kerr was having an up-and-down blackjack session when a floor supervisor requested to see his identification. Kerr declined and tried to exit the property when security officers detained him and took him to a private room, where he was told they were waiting for the police.

Police never arrived. According to Kerr, they stayed away because he had not done anything wrong. Talking about the reasoning behind the lawsuit, Kerr said that he doesn’t want other people to go through the same ordeal.
Kerr is no stranger to legal action, having filed a similar complaint in 2018 against Harrah’s New Orleans Casino, which resulted in an out-of-court settlement.
