Video evidence obtained by US investigative reporters has revealed the Las Vegas Raiders’ Charles Snowden believed he was in Florida and not Las Vegas during a DUI arrest.

According to 8 News Now, the Raiders’ defensive end made the mistake when being questioned by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers during a December 10 arrest.

blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit

According to documents, Snowden’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when LVMPD officers found him asleep at the wheel in a running Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Snowden was unresponsive in his stationary SUV that “had almost rolled off a four-foot retaining wall.” After making contact with Snowden, the LVMPD stated he would “wake up for a few seconds, look around but not seem to see the officers and fall back asleep.”

Snowden told officers he was trying to get home, but when he was asked if he knew what state he was in, replied “Florida.” Pushed to answer what city he’s in, the Santa hat-wearing Snowden failed to reply “and appears to then fall asleep on the hood of a cruiser.”

The Snowden’s lawyers stated that their client would be pleading not guilty to the charge, namely DUI of alcohol and/or a controlled or prohibited substance. The Raiders, meanwhile, stated they were “aware of the incident […] and will not comment further as this is a legal matter.”

As of Wednesday, the Raiders have retained Snowden on the team roster. His arraignment is set for April; the DUI, first offense, is only a misdemeanor charge.
