Some of the giants of the Las Vegas casino resort industry have reacted to the fires devastating California by offering hefty room discounts and pledging money for relief efforts.
Major players including MGM Resorts, Resorts World, Fontainebleau, and Virgin have all offered reduced room rates for California residents affected by the fires.
Las Vegas Locally took to X on Friday to share Resorts World Las Vegas’ “special LA Support Rate” offer of 35% off rooms and suites:
The latest Vegas-based firm to react, MGM Resorts, has pledged to support California relief efforts via a $1m donation to the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, in addition to a 35% room discount for affected Californian residents. Fontainebleau Las Vegas is also discounting rooms and issued a statement Thursday, saying: “we look to offer a safe place of rest and refuge during this heartbreaking time.”
Off-Strip Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, meanwhile, is offering 50% off rooms.

MGM Resorts’ $1m donation matches an earlier amount pledged by Wynn Resorts to humanitarian efforts on the West Coast. Wynn CEO Craig Billings stated there was “little that can be done to console the immense loss that so many people are experiencing but we remain at the ready to assist in any way that we can.”
