FanDuel has donated $250,000 to help with relief efforts as wildfires continue to ravage communities in California. At least 24 people have lost their lives to date, thousands have lost their homes, and the cost of the damages so far exceeds $275bn.
The Flutter Entertainment-owned operator is giving funds to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and AmeriCares. The latter is looking after emergency healthcare requirements, while the former supplies vital firefighting equipment.

Talking about the tragedy, FanDuel CEO Amy Howe said that Flutter has been part of the business community in LA for more than two decades and that they will ensure that “employees are safe and making sure the community has the resources it needs to support the heroic efforts of our first responders.” The company has an office in the city where about 400 employees work.
Firefighters are still struggling to contain the blazes, and strong winds across Southern California are expected until Wednesday. Over 92,000 residents in LA County received evacuation orders, and another 89,000 are on high alert.
