After defeating Mike Tyson last year, YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul is on the hunt for his next opponent, and it seems he might have found him. Rumor has it Paul is in the final stages of talks with the team of Mexican fighter Canelo Alvarez for a fight in the gambling capital of America, Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Locally shared the information on X this week, suggesting that the fight was expected to take place on Cinco de Mayo weekend at the Sphere:
However, new reports from ESPN’s Mike Coppinger suggest the pair are now looking at the T-Mobile Arena for a 200-pound weight-limit fight. They are due to fight on May 3, if his claims are correct. The match would reportedly be streamed live on Netflix, like the Tyson fight.
34-year-old Alvarez has a professional record of 62-2-2 and is the reigning unified world super middleweight champion. He also previously secured titles at light heavyweight, middleweight and light middleweight. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Paul’s own record amounts to 11-1.
