The former manager of a Las Vegas gun store is facing allegations that she stole over $160,000 from her employer to try to cover significant gambling losses. Debbie Walker allegedly took the money while working for Discount Firearms & Ammo near the Resorts World casino resort.

An employee reportedly discovered the embezzlement and reported it to the authorities. Walker was the manager of the gun store for over a decade and regularly handled cash.

Police officers looked into Walker and discovered a player’s card for Station Casinos, which detailed losses totaling $353,000. She also had significant loans, which led law enforcement to believe her financial woes were the motive for the theft.

They have footage of Walker taking cash while working at the gun store. Just days before she quit her job, Walker texted a co-worker saying she was sorry and intended to pay back the store.

Walker pleaded guilty to theft exceeding $100,000 on Wednesday; her next court date is set for April 22. If found guilty, she could spend up to 20 years behind bars.
