One unlucky bettor was left licking his wounds after his two-leg parlay that would have paid out $10,498 lost because Matvei Michov missed an open goal:

The first leg in the wager was Bryce Harper hitting a home run during the Philadelphia Phillies’ Opening Day game against the Washington Nationals, which he duly did to tick the box of the +480 selection.

odds of +18,000 on Michov scoring at least three goals in the game

The second leg was the long shot, with Steven Joyce getting odds of +18,000 on Michov scoring at least three goals in the game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Montreal Canadiens.

Hitting the post while the net was empty denied the $10 bet, something that will certainly hurt Joyce for a while.
