Andrew Novak is a relatively unknown PGA Tour golfer, having never won a tournament and he has only played one major championship. The 30-year-old was in contention to secure his debut win at the RBC Heritage over the weekend before falling short on the first play-off hole to Justin Thomas. It was still the North Carolina native’s closest finish on tour and secured him 400,000 FedEx Cup points.

a young fan remarked to Novak that he had bet on him winning

While signing autographs after the play-off on Sunday, a young fan remarked to Novak that he had bet on him winning. The runner-up quickly responded by saying he hoped he backed him to finish in the top five and not win outright:

It was a good week for Justin Thomas, with the two-time Major champion ending a three-year win drought on tour. He started the week with a course record 61 and he made a 21-foot birdie putt on the first play-off hole to claim victory.
