Animal Kingdom
This is the African plain, remember, and the symbols reflect the diversity of animal life populating the landscape. Well, most of them do; we also have to contend with the ubiquitous sight of playing card symbols, six of them in total, stretching from 9 through to A. We’re always mildly disappointed when we play a slot game which has a great theme, yet pads out its grid with playing cards. These ones aren’t particularly well drawn, just chunky letters in different colours. Needless to say, they’re the lowest paying on the board.
Better icons include that of a crocodile, a monkey, a giraffe, an elephant and a zebra. Each cartoonised character symbol occupies a square which features a different coloured backdrop, a fact which serves to make the symbols stand out more on the reels. Thus, the crocodile sits in the foreground of a green swamp, the zebra appears in front of a red sky, and the giraffe is centred on a blue reel suggestive of the early evening.
The animal icons are attached to decent values in the game’s pay-table. The elephant is the king of the jungle here, not the lion, and hitting five will pay 2,000x your stake-per-line. Five giraffes is 1,000 while five zebras is 800. The clumsy monkey pays 600 for five, while the goofy croc pays 400.
Go Wild On Safari also includes some special symbols, one of which is an animal skin wild, the other a Land Rover scatter. The wild pays the 40,000x jackpot for five, 4,000 for four and 200 for three. It also pays a modest 12 for two, and can substitute for all other icons except the scatter.

Your whip is a Land Rover, which is the key to the game’s bonus round. All you need to do is land three, four or five, in any position, to win a round of free spins. Unlike with some games, there are gradations of rewards depending on how many scatters you land. Three entitles you to a 5x multiplier and 15 free spins. The whole of reel five also becomes wild.
Four scatters gives you 10x, 15 free spins and the last two reels turn wild.
