Juicy Stakes is a rotten looking casino that appears to have been bashed out by a kid as part of a school computing project. It may be the case that Juicy Stakes is in fact a highly professional operation offering state of the art casino games served up in a secure and sophisticated gaming environment, but you wouldn’t want to bet on it, even if you’re the sort who’ll bet on anything given the chance.
The site offers downloadable software as well as an instant play option plus the strangest homepage you’ve ever seen. It’s a real shocker, with no links whatsoever in the body content; just left aligned images and texts. It looks more like a Wordpress blog post than a casino homepage. It’s all very strange. Do people really play at this place?
It’s hard to write authoritatively about Juicy Stakes because there’s not really any information to go on. The site doesn’t have an About page for example, and there doesn’t appear to be any information on the source of its gaming license. Juicy Stakes Games Ltd appear to be the site’s operators and Zagox are possibly the company who actually manage the site. The site uses a RNG, relying on a system that’s found in Microsoft’s CryptoAPI.
This is designed to ensure fair play by deploying random and unpredictable number generation. If nothing else, customer support appears to be comprehensive at Juicy Stakes: live chat is purportedly staffed 24/7 and there’s also email and toll-free telephone support available. If you’d like to find out about the latest goings on and offers at Juicy Stakes, click on the News tab. You’ll be in for a disappointment though because there are no articles to be found here. That’s the sort of lazy and half-baked place this site is.
Juicy Stakes are proud of the secure and simple payment facility that they’ve set up, delivered by their own in-house software. The casino has partnered with major international payment processors including credit card and ewallet providers. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are all available, but only for deposits. There’s also Skrill and Neteller, which can be used for withdrawals too.
When making a withdrawal from the site, there’s a 48-hour wait before requests are processed. Your options in terms of obtaining your winnings are either ewallet or cheque. You’ll be expected to provide ID before your payout request is honoured and if choosing cheque, there’s a fee of $50. There’s no fee for ewallet withdrawals but the minimum cashout is set at $25.
The promotions page at Juicy Stakes is every bit as muddled as the rest of the site. For example, there’s a banner advertising a 100% reload bonus, but the text below it states that this offer is currently unavailable. There is a welcome bonus however of 200% worth up to $1,000. Many of the other promotions to be found at Juicy Stakes are geared around poker, which is a mainstay of the site. After signing up at the site, for example, you’ll be granted a ticket to the Juicy Stakes One Dollar New Player Tournament.
There’s also money dispensed each week to players who’ve put in the most time on the slots. The FPP Race, as it’s called, dispenses $4,000 in prizes a week, but it’s unclear what games are included in this promotion. Despite their muddled nature, there’s certainly no shortage of promotions to be savoured at Juicy Stakes: names include Rake Back Deal, Depositor Freeroll, Sunday $5K GTD, Casino Game of the Week and Non Deposit Bonus.
Confusingly, Juicy Stakes appears to operate three different rewards schemes: Gold Chips, Loyalty Levels and Frequent Player Points. That’s just the start of the confusion because, wait for it... Loyalty Levels is a scheme that awards players cash for earning Frequent Player Points (FPP). So what are FPP? These are points that are awarded for playing cash poker ring games and tournaments plus selected casino games. At poker ring games, for instance, you’ll earn 1 FPP for every $1 raked.
It would take pages to outline the full workings of this unnecessarily complex scheme, and indeed Juicy Stakes have expended huge chunks of text on attempting to do so. If you’re wondering where Gold Chips come into the equation, these are obtained by swapping FPPs for them. Gold Chips can then be exchanged for free tournament play. Yep, it would be fair to say that Juicy Stakes’ rewards scheme is a complete mess, just like the rest of the site.
The Juicy Stakes poker room is the beating heart of the site. To access that heart you’ll ideally need to download the site’s free poker software, whereupon you’ll be able to play Texas Hold ‘Em, Omaha and Hi Lo games including no limit, limit and pot limit formats. There’s the option of playing for free before you head to the money tables where the real action and rewards are at.
The site also offers instant play poker for players who don’t want to download the software or who are running a Mac and thus can’t download it. Microsoft Silverlight is required in order for the instant play poker to work. Poker is a game that was made for tournament play, and Juicy Stakes promises its players access to a wealth of tourneys held 24/7.
It isn’t possible to actually determine the games that are available at Juicy Stakes without either downloading the software or installing Silverlight to access the instant play section of the site. There is a preview page of sorts, but it doesn’t name a single game, instead speaking only in general terms about the wares that are available in the casino. Takisto and Worldmatch are the firms whose games are available to play apparently. This includes Worldmatch slots, which feature HD graphics and all the usual bonuses you’d expect to find in video slots.
Video poker is also available, as you’d expect of a site that’s heavily oriented around poker in all its forms. Takisto’s video poker games can be played at Juicy Stakes and it’s likely that these include the usual suspects such as Jacks or Better and Aces & Faces. The site also features wheel games in the form of Money Wheel, Golden Rush Wheel, Fortune Wheel and Big Six Wheel and table games in the form of Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Craps, Let it Ride, Caribbean Stud and Casino Hold ‘Em. A selection of mini games rounds things off.
Juicy Stakes is an atrocious site that should be avoided at all costs. From the lacklustre homepage to the discontinued bonuses that nevertheless remain live – not to mention the empty news page – it’s evident that the site’s operators couldn’t care less about this place. It’s not even clear where their gaming license comes from. Given these factors, there’s little reason why anyone would want to sign up here and elect to make Juicy Stakes their de facto poker site. Avoid.
