Scratchcard Shop

Get the thrill of instant wins in Playech’s new Scratchcard Shop – a virtual gaming emporium where players will be able to choose from several fun-filled titles as they click their way to fantastic prizes.

Featuring six individual scratch cards at prices from $0.20 to $5, Scratchcard Shop is like walking into your local convenience store and picking a game without actually having to leave the house – and best of all, the highest value scratcher available can net you a huge jackpot win of up to $30,000.

Six-Shooter

Currently available at Virgin Casino, Scratchcard Shop gives players access to a range of unique games at prices to suit all bankrolls. The lowest value scratcher is Cash Crop, which offers players a top prize for a $200 for a $0.20 outlay, while Crazy Fruits is $0.40 a turn with a maximum win of $16.

One step up on the pay-scale players will find Noughts and Crosses, a $0.50 scratcher with a top win of $50, while Whole Lotta Luck comes in at $1 and offers a maximum jackpot of $800. The penultimate game is Moolah Machine which costs $2 to play and can dole out up to $1,600 in prize money, while Gold Fever is the shop’s most expensive scratcher at $5 with a top award of $30,000.

The shop itself is incredibly easy to navigate, with scratchers being arranged in ascending order of value. Rules for each individual game are written on the scratch card itself and players can choose to purchase any title by clicking the “buy new card” button. Once a sale has been made, the funds will automatically be deducted from your casino balance, with any wins also being credited instantly.

Cash Scratch Fever

In terms of the game specifics of each title, Cash Crop is an incredibly straightforward card that sees players scratch away at five corn cobs, with prizes awarded for any three matching pay amounts. Crazy Fruits, meanwhile, features one panel containing eight fruit symbols, with payouts again awarded for matching three identical icons and a special bonus panel that provides additional prizes.

Noughts and Cross is slightly more nuanced and requires players to first scratch a panel to reveal their prize amount and symbol for the game, which is obviously either a nought or a cross. They then have to scratch the card’s main panel, with wins being awarded whenever three of their symbols for that game appear in a row. Whole Lotta Luck, however, returns to a more basic formula with a single panel of ten symbols needing to be scratched away, with prizes again awarded for three-of-a-kind.

Moolah Machine is similarly simplistic, with players having to scratch off four individual cogs to reveal prize amounts and payouts being awarded once more for three identical sums.

Finally, Gold Fever is the shop’s most complex card and features three individual game panels. When scratched, the first reveals a 3x3 grid of prizes, with payouts awarded for any three identical amounts on a horizontal line. The second uncovers a special prize symbol and pays out a set amount whenever it features in the four spaces below, while the last uncovers six cash amounts of up to $10,000 with winnings being awarded whenever three of the same sum appear in any order on the game panel.

Ye Olde Shoppe

In terms of visuals, Scratchcard Shop is more engaging to look at than the vast majority of instant-win titles out there, with the actual purchasing of cards taking place in an old-fashioned corner shop. A kindly old man sits behind the counter and either shrugs when you scratch off a dud or blows a party whistle when you win, with a cheerful piece of music also bouncing along in the background.

Each scratch card has its own distinct visual theme based on the title of the game itself, with the more expensive cards looking progressively more classy as you move up through the price brackets. As such, Gold Fever is by far the most visually striking game, with its all-gold design and generously-sized panels doing a good job of conveying the value of a game where you can win a five-figure prize.

Cash and Carry

While we have to admit that we typically find instant-win scratchers pretty uninspiring, Scratchcard Shop does a good job of packaging together six distinctive-looking titles in one unique setting. The visuals add a certain charm to the gameplay that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into an actual village shop, while the music – though a little twee for our tastes – further enhances the experience.
