Circus Slot Machine
There’s nothing quite as thrilling as a night at the circus. The flashing lights, the dizzying heights and all of the bright colours and tumultuous sounds that come as part of the package take a great deal of matching. As one of humankind’s oldest and most treasured pass times, the circus has remained aesthetically un-changing throughout the centuries; packing in all manner of feats and accomplishments in order to provide a level of entertainment that simply can’t be equalled!
Of course, there’s been a seemingly endless roster of games over the years that have all attempted to accurately transform the thrill of the circus into the more compact, yet in many ways just as thrilling format of a video slots game. As a dedicated follower of games of this kind, as well as someone who has held a lifelong fascination of the circus – we’ve tried the vast majority of them.
Perhaps the most common issue that we’ve encountered when putting these games through their paces has been a skin deep commitment to the overriding theme. There’s fewer things more off-putting than a game which sells itself on a striking and unique theme but which fails to deliver beyond the base level symbols and its reels graphic make up.
With all of this in mind, we ventured into the Circus with as open a mind as possible in order to determine whether it would fall by the wayside or stand up to our obviously rather high expectations!
The Fundamentals
Featuring the standard five reels but a restricted number of paylines clocking in at just ten, Circus is one of the lighter titles to be produced by the team at SGS Universal in recent years. Regardless of this, the theme present within the game is every bit as enriched, deep and compelling as you would hope for – with a neat range of vibrant graphics acting to populate the reels as well as the background.
Further to this, the sound effects manage to accurately evoke the fun and festivity of the circus with great effect – locking players into the game at hand from the word go and refusing to let them go until satisfaction has been achieved, one way or another.
The Symbols
The game is of course complete with its own range of symbols and triggers, all of which contribute towards the various routes towards payment available. A host of odd yet utterly loveable characters call the game home; from an Indian Elephant, a Seal, a Tiger to a peculiar snake woman, a clown and a Swami hat.
Circus’s wild is the seal and the creepy clown fella acts as a scatter, which is the only symbol immune from being substituted by wild. This is all fairly standard stuff for anyone with a little bit of experience playing games of this constitution; making this game highly accessible for all players; from newcomers to the more experienced among you.
Prizes and Wagers
Bet limits range between 0.01 to 5.00 per active line (1-10 per spin), meaning that a total of 50.00 can be wagered per spin. These numbers shouldn’t be shied away from, though there’s little question that the Circus may not be the ideal pick for the high rollers out there.
Scatters on the reels in any position will go some way to unlock or activate certain multipliers, with more symbols meaning a pot growth of greater magnitude. Again, rather simple stuff, but worth knowing about nonetheless.
Roll Up, Roll Up
SGS Universal has been responsible for some of the most wildly successful interactive video slots titles to become available on this growing market within recent years, that much we’re sure we can all agree on. With Circus, it seems they’ve decided to create a game that will cater mostly towards newcomers to this dynamic and exhilarating form of gaming – and in this capacity they have most certainly succeeded.
The game is definitely better suited towards individuals with little experience on the slots, or similarly those who prefer not to get all that involved with the deeper side to them. With a theme that works not just to capture the imagination, but to retain possession of it, there’s a lot to write home about here – making it a slot worth trying out.
