Fruity Slot
Classic slot machines appear to be on the up of late, with many players, even those better suited to video slots, enjoying the simple delights of having fewer paylines and special features. Slot machines like Fruity Slot go to show that bigger doesn’t always mean better, and so it is one for those of you who are retro gamers to your core.
You’ll find everything is very basic here, from the controls and settings down to the graphics and sound used. Bede Gaming have produced a title that doesn’t rely on gimmicks to make it a winner. It simply is a winner.
Although this game isn’t difficult to get to grips with, it can still be daunting trying out something new, and so we went ahead and played Fruity Slot for you; this guide is our way of passing over what we found out.
Minimalism
Every symbol you see is a very flat 2D image, with the pixels made up to create recognisable icons that we know from real life casino games, such as 7s, stars, juicy lemons and ripe cherries. The whole gang is here.
As with any game, there are low and high value tiles, and in this case the cherries are at the bottom of the pile and the gem studded 7 is at the top; the lowest you can win is 5 credits, while the most is 10,000. That’s quite a jump, but what a nice surprise! We had expected the payouts to be minimal to match its appearance, but it seems Bede Gaming had other ideas in mind.
In between these two you have middling amounts that range from 50 to 7,500 coins, however you will need to find five of every symbol if you're to get the most money. Should you only find three, the payouts will be much lower and less exciting. Still, a win is a win, and all money will add up and go back into the kitty, so you’re likely to be a little richer if not a lot.
Wins are made left to right, right to left and up and down, and all wins are worked out as multiples of your initial bet and not the full stake, which sounds complicated but it really isn’t.
There are no extras to be found here, and so players will only ever experience the one and only base game that is available to them, which does mean that boredom through repetition is quite likely. Nonetheless, it’s very authentic and cuts out all the rubbish to give you a streamlined experience that you can play on any of your devices.
Pump and Spin
Despite it looking very traditional, you’ll have to click a spin button just like in many other slot machines, and should you be paying to do so, you’ll need to place a wager. Bede Gaming are renowned for having low betting thresholds, and Fruity Slot doesn’t challenge this fact: the smallest amount you can stake is 0.09 overall, which is 0.01 on every payline.
Customers can increase the money as they see fit, but they will end up hitting the betting limit quite soon as it’s 10 credits.
Seeing as there are so few paylines as it is, you might as well play with them all. However should you rather not, you can decrease it down to 1 payline, though it won’t be nearly as thrilling.
In regards to actually spinning the reels, you can choose to click the spin widget each time or try out the autoplay toggle, found on the far right hand side. This option allows you to experience automatic waves of between 10 and 100 spins, leaving you to clean up, make a brew and do anything else you fancy.
Feeling Fruity
What can we say that hasn’t been said already? This game is basic but it’s fun, and so we would recommend it to all slot machine players. It’s a 3 out of 5 stars.
