100 Cats Slot Machine
Cat lovers from all walks of life will certainly be delighted to know that there is also a video slot game designed only for them. 100 Cats is indeed all about their favourite felines, unsurprisingly.
If the name of this EGT title basically gives away all there is to know about the game, there are still some elements that deserve to be more thoroughly reviewed – that is, if you want to at least try to be a winner.
So whether you are allergic to cat hair or not, read on to find out more about 100 Cats.
Not A Single Mouse In Sight
Basing a slot games on the furry world of cats does not necessarily come as an obvious choice. Regardless, this is the challenge that EGT has chosen to take.
And as a matter of fact, there is not much to say about the immersive quality of the game universe. The general background is dark blue and vaguely resembles a starry night sky. The reels themselves are floating over a cityscape at night, by the ocean. They are coloured in purple and pink tones, to top it off.
There isn’t any specific musical theme to the game either, the melodies triggered after a win are rather generic and do not have much to do with cats at all. In a nutshell, you cannot exactly say that 100 Cats leads the way in terms of general game design.
How To Play
100 Cats is played on 5 reels and up to 100 paylines. Yes, that is basically one per cat. You can use the side tags to choose between 1, 20, 30, 50 and 100 paylines to activate. There is no way to choose a different number so be prepared for bigger bets here.
The next step is to select how many coins to bet on each payline. This can be easily done by using the shortcut below the reels to select either 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 coins per payline. The reels will start spinning as soon as you finalise your bet.
Using the Autoplay function is always a good idea if you want to keep a constant wager over several spins in a row. Click the corresponding orange button on the left-hand side to let the computer take the wheel, then sit back and hope for many combos! Note that if you choose to stay in single spin mode, you will have the option to double your wins every time through the Gamble option. Click the button when it appears and guess correctly the colour of a hidden card in the mini game that ensues. A wrong guess will result in your losing of all your new earnings, so be careful.
Finally, remember to keep an eye on the four counters at the very top of the screen. They represent the four progressive jackpots of the game. After each win, the Jackpot Cards Bonus game can be triggered randomly, in which case you will have to select facedown cards to flip them over until you have revealed three of the same suit to win the corresponding jackpot.
Meeting The Kitties
You have probably been assuming that the whole paytable of 100 Cats was filled with depictions of various felines. And you were right.
Well, mostly right, as the lower part of the menu brings the usual card symbols to the party. Jack, Queen, King and Ace are here in bright, colourful fonts to trigger modest rewards.
The six remaining basic symbols are, as expected, cats. They come in all shapes, colours and races you can imagine and they all look quite cute and reasonably friendly like most cats do. Combinations of three or more identical symbols on an activated payline pay left to right and trigger a cash prize relative to your initial bet, so try to get those kitties to line up!
A Little Extra
You might see the Cat Lady appear once in the while on the reels: she is the Wild card of 100 Cats, here to step in for any basic symbol and help form new winning combinations. She is also the most valuable icon of all, awarding 100 times the amount of your wager for a five-of-a-kind combo.
The pink Cat Family sign acts as a Scatter symbol here. It can only appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels and three of them together will trigger a bonus of 10 free spins.
Another feline-theme game is Top Cat Most Wanted slot by Blueprint Gaming. Get up to 50,000x your bet in this medium volatility slot machine.
Feline Lucky?
100 Cats has all the ingredients to make a solid slot game, but its universe is so heavy that some players might have a hard time to relate.
If you have a strong love for cats though, then you have found your new purrrr-fect game!
