Bingo Best

For those who love bingo best, it has to be Bingo Best. Your tolerance for bingo will depend on a number of factors, but if you’re of the view that bingo is superior to every other form of gambling, including slots, poker and table games, you’ll doubtless be eager to experience it in as many forms as possible; live in the bingo hall and virtually at an online casino. Bingo Best is an online casino game that takes the classic version of bingo and attempts to infuse a dash of flair and personality, all wrapped up in a showbiz sheen.

That sheen starts the moment the game loads and you’re greeted by a man tipping his fedora in deference. A show business soundtrack strikes up and then, before you can proceed any further, you’re tasked with selecting your game style. This can range from Easy to Soft, Smooth, Smart and finally Hard. Each option is accompanied by a colour and a description. By default, you start on Soft, the second lowest setting, with a description that reads “Like the soft ride? Day long amusement, but with one shot more excitement.”

Best Bingo Game?

Click on an option followed by the green Start Play button and you’ll next see a ghastly looking typeface overlaid on a horrible shade of cyan blue. It looks like something out of ClipArt circa 1999, and isn’t helped by the fact that in the background an array of other competing typefaces can be seen. Bingo Best is a mish-mashed game that’s been designed with no fixed strategy in mind.

Once the game board finally loads, you’ll find yourself confronted with no less than three images of the same fedora-tipping gent. Tipping intensifies. Technically it’s not a fedora, it’s a top hat, but let’s not agonise over semantics. It’s going down as a fedora.

Coins and Values

Set your bet using the orange plus and minus buttons below the board; this can range between 1 and 100 coins. As you adjust your bet, raising it gradually, you’ll see the value of various bingo combinations displayed in the paytable rising accordingly. At the top setting, you can win 150,000 coins for matching every number on the 5x3 grid. Bingo Best comes with an autoplay option. Push it and the game commences at lightning fast speed, with the balls rapidly displayed on screen in a jerky fashion that’s reminiscent of watching an old Laurel & Hardy movie. Bingo Best really isn’t the most graceful of games, it’s gotta be said.

A Load of Balls

Bingo Best lets you play with a maximum of four cards per game, but by default only one card is activated to start. To play with additional cards, simply click on them and they’ll flip over to reveal the numbers underneath. The number of credits you have left and your total bet, meanwhile, are clearly displayed in the top right of the screen. With all four cards active and the max bet set, the most you’ll pay per game is 400 coins. If you’re the superstitious type, Bingo Best lets you select the same numbers for the next game.

A menu option in the bottom left of the screen gives you the chance to disable the audio, which is recommended, and to reduce the game speed, which is also recommended. Even with the animations slowed down, they don’t seem to get any less jerky. There’s also a Max Bet button to be found, concealed within the Menu button, which is an odd place to conceal a betton whose function is supposed to be one of convenience. Bingo Best really hasn’t been thought out well. With the maximum bet enabled, you’ll win a minimum of 300 from a game where you’ve completed one line of numbers. These lines don’t need to be vertical or horizontal by the way; diagonal is also good. From there, the prizes rise rapidly, with the prospect of 10,000 in exchange for completing two lines at once.

The Best Bet?

Although it just about works for the purposes of online casino gaming, Bingo Best is a pretty rubbish take on the game it’s gotta be said. The typefaces, colours and navigation are all atrocious and so’s the audio. Once the intro screen has loaded and the game’s actually begun, none of this stuff matters, but initially it’s all very off-putting.

Sure, Bingo Best is mobile-compatible and yes it’s a game that you can play for free or play for real money, but then the same can be said of loads of casino games. It’s going to take more than that to redeem a game as cheap and tacky as Bingo Best.
