Any Seven: Also known as “Big Red,” this is a bet that the next roll will be a seven.
Back Line: Another name for the “Don’t Pass” area of the betting layout.
Betting Right: Slang for betting on the Pass Line.
Betting Wrong: Slang for betting on the Don’t Pass Line.
Come Bet: A bet identical to the Pass bet, but made at any time other than the come-out roll.
Come-Out Roll: The first roll in a round of craps, and the only time when Pass or Don’t Pass bets can be made.
Crap Out: A term for rolling a 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out bet.
Cold Table: A table where sevens are being rolled frequently after a point is established, meaning Pass bets are frequently losing.
Front Line: Another name for the Pass Line.
Hardway: Rolling a specific number (4, 6, 8, or 10) by rolling a pair rather than any other combination.
Hard Number: A 4, 6, 8, or 10 which is rolled via a pair, such as a pair of threes making a “hard six.”
Hot Table: A table where the shooter is continually winning for Pass bets by winning on come-out rolls or rolling points afterwards.
Insurance Bet: Another name for a hedge bet, one that will pay off if another bet you made has lost.
Lay Bet: A bet similar to laying the odds, though with a 5% commission paid to the casino on your bet.
Natural: A come-out roll of either 7 or an 11.
One Roll Bets: A bet that will resolve on the next roll no matter what the result is, such as the Field bet.
Parlay: Betting all of your winnings from a craps bet on your next wager.
Pass Line: The area of the table where you will put your chips if you’d like to make a Pass bet.
Pass Line Bet: Another name for a Pass bet, which wins on a 7 or 11 on the come-out roll, or by hitting the point before a 7 is rolled afterwards.
Place Numbers: A bet which can be made at any time, and that pays out if a given number is rolled before a seven.
Point: The number rolled on a come-out roll, if that roll is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
Right Bettor: A bettor who makes Pass and Come bets, thus betting with the majority of the craps table.
Roll Craps: Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out roll.
Seven Out: Rolling a seven after the point has been established, ending the shooter’s turn with the dice.
Snake Eyes: Slang for rolling a pair of ones.
Shooter: The player who is rolling the dice at the craps table.
Stickman: The casino employee at the crabs table who uses the stick to move the dice to the shooter and calls out the results of each roll.
Wrong Bettor: A better who bets on Don’t Pass and Don’t Come bets, thus betting against most of the table.
